THE ARTS

LCM Arts Council

The Lutheran Church of Mahomet Arts Council was formed in September 2003 to share the Good News of Jesus Christ through the arts. How do we plan to fulfill our mission?

1. By expressing truth through various art forms

2. By stimulating emotions through the senses

3. By enhancing the congregation’s awareness of Christ’s presence through the arts, being inclusive of various forms of art.

4. By offering opportunities for God’s people to share their art with both the Christian and non-Christian communities.

Areas of involvement include dance, drama, film, music, poetry, special events, and the visual arts.

Upcoming Events

“That You May Have Life”

The Chancel Choir and Praise Team will be presenting portions of Marty Haugen’s and Susan Briehl’s “That You May Have Life” throughout the season of Lent, during Holy Week and on Easter Sunday. This work contains musical stories from the Gospel of John and Pastor Gary Sproat will be developing a sermon series to correspond with the musical presentations.

Visual Arts

At the Lutheran Church of Mahomet we have many artistic people who have shared their talents with us in many different ways. From bulletin covers to wall size paintings, wondrous banners and crocheted paraments to hand crafted woodworking; each creation is a gift that brings with it a new way of seeing, of being in faith, of interacting with God and with each other.

LCM Music Ministries

The Bible Says:" Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!" Have you ever considered serving God by joining a choir? We want to invite you to join one of the choirs at the Lutheran Church of Mahomet. Our musical groups are divided by age and interests. We are certain that you will find a choir that will help you share your gifts and talents with us. Check out the descriptions of our choirs below and watch the bulletin for beginning rehearsal dates.

LCM Drama Ministries

Just as God uses dramatic events and symbolic actions to communicate His love to us, we use drama and symbolism to communicate His love to others. Opportunities for involvement in drama include sketches for worship, dinner theatre production, and seasonal musicals.
