Pre-K Classroom News

This month we have worked on:

·        Writing our names

·        Learning new songs

·        The letters E, H, T and I (what they look like, how to write them and what sound they make)

·        Calendar – the snack person gets to point while we all count the days and figure out the pattern piece of the next day.

·        Science – Apple and pumpkin facts, how quickly apples of different sizes will roll down inverted planes set at differing levels and hands on apples and pumpkin exploration

·        Scissor skills and other fine motor activities

·        Dramatic play – we had a pie-baking center where they could roll out, put together and bake their pies. There were many sensory levels to this center and the children had practice sharing and working together.

MISCELLANEOUS

Thank you to our parent helpers this month. You were a great help.

Drop off and pick up have been going very well. Thanks for your part in this. Pick up is also going very quickly. We are usually done in about five minutes. We might have set a new AGC record this year!

The seasons are changing and we often need spare clothes. Please make sure your child has cold weather clothing at school.

Thank you to all who attended and helped out with the Halloween party. I do have pictures for all of you and will try to get those out as soon as possible.

HELP WANTED

The AGC Feast will be on Monday, November 24th. The children will perform briefly for you and then we will have a feast during the last hour of class. This is always great fun for the kids and they love inviting everyone. Extended family and family friends are welcome at this event. Please let me know if you did not receive a RSVP form.

Like every other function I need a couple of volunteers to help out. One person will be needed to help with set-up and two to help with clean up. If you can cover either of these positions please let me know.

AGC ANNUAL GARAGE SALE

We have a few of our coordinators for this year’s garage sale. Say a big thank you to the following:

Day of Sale Coordinator – Kim Rauchfuss (T/TH class)

Publicity Coordinator – Sara Terry (T/TH class)

I am still in need of a Set-Up and a Clean-Up Coordinator.

JUST A REMINDER…….

Book orders are due November 14th.
